Job Description
Monday-Friday 8-5pm with some occasional early/late requirements as needed for the job.
Provide leadership and management for a specific service area of Central Processing to ensure quality, cost effective healthcare services according to Sanford Health policies and standards.
Manages the training of and evaluates staff on policies, procedures and job responsibilities to ensure quality services are provided to customers.
Demonstrates ability to provide necessary leadership to associates and assigned area, including orientation, scheduling and education.
Researches, implements and evaluates policies, procedures and techniques to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies.
Maintains compliance with appropriate standards and regulatory guidelines to ensure quality and safe care for patients, visitors and associates.
Develops, tracks and maintains appropriate records for documentation purposes.
Researches and evaluates new technologies, supplies, equipment and packaging materials as well as monitors supplies as needed.
Assures availability and/or appropriate inventory of equipment/supplies.
Prepares and manages annual budget for specific areas of responsibility.
Required Skills
Post-secondary education or training in a related field and five years of related experience is required. Formal training or course work in Central Processing technologies is preferred. Must have strong leadership, management and organization skills; verbal and written communication skills; the ability to effectively plan and adapt quickly to system changes. Must have extensive knowledge of decontamination, sterilization and packaging processes and procedures to include knowledge of blood borne pathogens. Knowledge of quality and infection control procedures and policies, medical terminology and government regulations are also required.
Must be certified as a Central Service Technician.
