Gerdau is currently seeking a Mobile Equipment Operator for its Fargo, ND facility.
Responsibilities:
Operate mobile crane, magnet crane, mobile shear, and stationary shear to process scrap materials
Load and unload scrap from trucks or railcars
Move scrap from one area to another
Perform preventative maintenance such as lubrication, greasing, fueling & keeping cab clean.
Inspects for proper scrap grade & safety & environmental concerns such as tanks, cylinders etc. while shearing.
Shear unprepared material into prepared state identifying size, thickness, & physical dimensions.
Use mobile equipment to lift & move scrap.
Follow all plant & company safety guidelines in the performance of all job duties & responsibilities.
When operating mobile equipment, follow all prescribed safety guidelines & perform daily checks to ensure equipment is maintained & in proper working order.

Qualifications include:
Must have minimum High School diploma or GED.
1 - 2 years related experience in heavy industrial/manufacturing environment
Previous experience operating heavy equipment (forklifts, excavators, payloaders, overhead cranes/backhoe/high hoe/front end loader/or bulldozer)
Must be mechanically inclined so that mechanical preventative maintenance may be performed on equipment
Able to work in a fast paced environment
Must be able to follow all safety policies and procedures.
Requires light to moderate lifting less than or up to 50 lbs without assistance, stand for long periods of time, & comfortable working in a heavy manufacturing environment. This includes working in all weather conditions and shop conditions.
Read, write, speak English, strong organizational skills, ability to follow instruction & able to work on own with minimal supervision at times.
Requires PC skills.
Manual dexterity, customer service oriented.
High level of safety awareness
