We are currently looking for a mid-level engineering professional to join our multidisciplinary team. This position will offer the right person opportunities to work on a broad range of civil-engineering projects from water, municipal, and community development to solid waste management and associated infrastructure and environment/natural resources related projects. Stantec, as a team member of the Red River Valley Alliance, has been selected to complete the design, construction and operation of the Fargo-Moorhead Flood Diversion Project, this multifaceted project will offer unique opportunities, and this position provides an opportunity to support the needs of this significant project. This position will work as a team member on larger project teams working closely with a senior engineer/project manager and may also be charged as the team lead on smaller projects, serving as the project manager and/or certifying engineer. Your Key Responsibilities Work with multidisciplinary teams to undertake infrastructure projects related to their planning, design and engineering. Manage and lead technical work depending on scope/size of project. Assist/prepare technical reports, concept designs, construction specifications, construction drawings, bidding documents, and permit applications for approvals. Liaise with clients and sub-consultants and ensure that the project's/client's needs are met in a timely and effective manner. Attends project coordination meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants. Participates in value engineering and basic cost estimating. Prepare and revise documentation in various project phases including site plans, utility plans, roadway layouts, stormwater systems and other construction components as part of a Civil Engineering Project. Professional engineering design through sketches, electronic models, diagrams, and other visual formats. Quality Assurance and Quality Control. Assists in the review of shop drawings and submittals, responds to request for information, prepares site observation reports, and performs other contract administration tasks. Assist with proposal development. Qualifications Your Capabilities and Credentials Understanding of all phases of engineering document production and the relationship between drawings and specifications. Recognizes when technical problems are developing and initiates appropriate corrective actions using sound professional judgment, creativity, and innovation. Excellent writing and verbal communication skills with attention to detail; time management skills. Excellent client relation skills and be able to coordinate effectively with team members. Proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D and Microsoft Office Suite, as well as relevant software programs which may include Civil3D, GIS or other technical software. Familiarity with HELP modeling, and HydroCAD software will be an asset. Experience and working knowledge in BlueBeam Revu, preferred. Knowledge of applicable waste management legislation including environmental assessment requirements and the approvals application process, preferred. Valid driver's license Ability to travel as needed for team meetings, client consultations, on-site inspections, business development activities, etc. Travel for multiple days (overnight travel) on occasion for meetings and to support project teams in other offices and for construction observation may be required. Ability to lift approximately 50 lbs. and do repetitive work such as lifting, bending and standing for long periods. Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in Civil, Geotechnical, or Environmental Engineering, from an accredited university Professional Engineer (PE) license, or ability to obtain Minimum of 6-7 years of progressive civil engineering design experience
Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
Minimum Qualification
Civil EngineeringEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
