Duties and responsibilities Discusses traffic routing plans, and type and location of control points with superior Directs movement of traffic through the site, using sign, hand, and flag signals Warns construction workers when approaching vehicle fails to heed signals to prevent accident and injury to workers Informs drivers of detour routes through construction sites Is responsible for moving signs, barricades, sandbags, and other traffic control devices Will be required to perform labor duties as requested All other duties as assigned, delegated, or necessary for operations Qualifications Must be able to pass Flagger Training provided by the DOT Possess a valid driver s license Ability to pass a pre-employment urine drug test and comply with drug and alcohol policies during employment Working conditions Outdoor environment subject to changing conditions and temperatures Occasional exposures to fumes, dust, odors, heights, and loud noises May be required to work 50
hours, 6-7 days a week Physical requirements Verbal, auditory, and written capabilities to effectively communicate in an articulate manner Clarity of vision at varying distances to perform various work assignments Standing for extended periods of time Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a variety of specialized tools and equipment Reaching overhead, above the shoulders, and horizontally Occasional bending, kneeling, or crouching Lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling object(s) weighing up to 50 pounds Northern Improvement is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
