Fargo, ND/Huron, SD/ Billings MT TrueNorth Steel is hiring a Steel Tank Estimator! This position is responsible for preparing bid estimates for tank (above-ground and underground storage) projects.

All candidates must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen (No longer testing for THC/cannabis) SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES Work closely with Tank Territory Sales Manager TSM(s) to create tank and associated products quotes and estimates in conjunction with TSM and at the direction of Director of Sales Support and or Director of Tank Sales.
Support TSM sales activities including working directly with tank customers to support their needs.
Monitor and understand and support TNS tank pricing, including market pricing (competitors) and margin goals.
Be a subject matter expert for all tank products and be able to converse on a technical level with customers.
Be a resource for training current or new Sales Support personnel on tank products.
Answer phone inquiries and/or obtains information for general public, customers, visitors, and other interested parties regarding tanks.
Prepare tank quotes and estimates for tank products and work with TSM to distribute these to prospective customers.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS oPrepare and review estimates with appropriate personnel (Territory Sales Managers) and outside engineering firms, contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure that the full scope of a project is covered.
oUse standard quoting and estimating tools/methods to ensure established tank pricing and margin standards are maintained as well as provide any feedback on improvements that will increase the accuracy of our estimates.
oEstimate non-standard tanks that require take off and plan reading abilities.
oTake customer phone calls that require an elevated understanding of tanks and accessories to find a solution for the customer.
oSupport assigned Territory Sales Manager(s) for customer inquiries, quote entry, and back up other representatives as needed.
oPositively interact and collaborate with all other team members of the company including Estimators, Sales Support Specialist partners, Territory Sales Managers, Director of Sales Support, production, logistics, purchasing, accounting, and executive management.
oLearn and retain applications and determine which product is best suited for expected results.
oLearn and understand all tank accessories and configurations.
oAttend seminars and classes as necessary to learn new sales skills, increase tank and related resale products knowledge.
oAlways conduct yourself in a professional manner when dealing with customers.
oWilling to work flexible hours when necessary.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE High School Diploma or GED required.
2 or 4 year College degree in Construction Management, Engineering or a related field is a plus.
