Job Description:
This role is responsible for leading all associates in the efficient and profitable operation of the Deli Department.
Responsible for managing day-to-day operations, maintaining high standards of quality, and ensuring a positive environment which provides consistent fast, efficient, and friendly service for customers.
Achieves sales and profit goals established for the department.
Here's what you'll do:
Ensures and is accountable for profitability of the department by growing sales through the delivery of top-quality products and controlling costs of goods, inventory levels, labor, supplies and expenses.
Maintains proper safety and loss prevention standards, reviewing cash handling procedures and managing inventory.
Ensure positive guest experience in all areas; respond to complaints and encourage customer feedback; ensure that customer Overall Satisfaction (OSAT) objectives are met.
Responsible for department management including staffing, training, scheduling, performance management and career development of associates, and developing and monitoring department goals.
Oversees all cash management functions.
Able to perform all POS duties, preparation of food according to standard procedures, including opening and closing procedures.
Maintains a clean, well-merchandised department.
Ensure compliance with operational standards, company policies, federal/state/local laws, and ordinances.
Develop and monitor department budget as required.
Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
Here's what you'll need:
High School Diploma (Required) or equivalent (GED).
Two years restaurant/food service experience required with at least one year in a lead or supervisory role.
Food Safety Certification (SERV Safe) is completed within 3 months required.
Ability to interpret and adhere to sanitation and food safety standards.
Self-discipline, initiative, leadership ability and outgoing attitude.
Ability to motivate associates to work as a team to ensure that product and service meet appropriate standards.
Ability to multi-task and problem solve.
Good communication skills for dealing with a diverse staff.
Ability to meet gross margin and profitability.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to interact with a variety of customers and respond effectively to their needs.
