is looking for a Crop Insurance Underwriter to work with our Fargo, North Dakota Policy Administration team.

TITLE:
Crop Insurance Underwriter DEPARTMENT:
Policy Administration LOCATION:
Fargo, North Dakota (Hybrid) POSITION OBJECTIVES:
Perform activities related to servicing Crop Insurance policies DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITY:
Accept, modify or cancel crop insurance policies for new and renewal applications according to Risk Management Agency (RMA), industry, state regulatory and company procedures; Perform data entry of Application/Change Forms, Production Reports, Acreage Reports, Quality Control and Claims related forms; Audit reported policy information including Coverage, Production, Acreage, Claims, Quality Control records, farming practices, and reported entities in accordance with RMA policy and company procedures; Perform premium estimates for crop insurance policies; Utilize various resources to research and answer crop policy questions from agents, insureds, and adjusters; Run and audit data reports to ensure compliance and accuracy of policy information; Help train agents on Crop Insurance as well as review Marketing materials relating to the products and sales of Crop Insurance.
Attend company and industry training sessions as directed; Handle policy transfer requests; Process incoming paper and electronic mail; Document and store policy information in accordance with company procedures; Other duties as assigned.
RELATIONSHIPS:
Participate as an employee and representative of AFBIS, Inc.
in a professional and courteous manner.
Will work closely with agents, adjusters, office, and field staff to meet customer service objectives.
EDUCATION OR TRAINING REQUIRED:
Requires a high school diploma, or the equivalent, and experience with administrative work.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
This position requires excellent research and organizational skills as well as the ability to work under tight deadlines.
The candidate must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to perform various mathematical computations.
Requires Microsoft Office experience and the ability to learn proprietary software.
Some overtime may be required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE DESIRED:
Underwriting, Insurance Industry or Ag related experience and/or degree preferred.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Position requires sitting for extended periods at a workstation and data entry using a computer keyboard and mouse.
Occasional lifting of items approximately 30 pounds may be required.
Recommended Skills Administration Auditing Claim Processing Communication Computer Keyboards Coordinating Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
