Responsibilities:
The Development Lead is a specialist in at least one key technology and provides technical leadership during the agile development process.
Responsible for overseeing the application architecture and design for large and complex technical solutions and defining the product-level technology strategy keeping the focus on business and non-functional requirements, such as scalability, performance, load time etc.
Must see across technology silos and be able to guide technical teams across application systems.
Should be able to define technical specifications based on the agile methodologies.
Leads the development team by helping them understand the stories/features, assigning story points, leading sprint planning and facilitating daily meetings.
Designing Technical Systems: Takes responsibility for defining and communicating a multi-faceted system design. Understands the principles behind non-functional requirements, namely those of systems security, performance, scalability, maintainability, operational manageability, usability and deployment and this with the functional requirements. Supports the Development Team throughout the design and development cycle.
Technical Team Leadership: Runs the estimating portion of sprint planning meetings - helps the development team determine the tasks that need to be done to complete the prioritized stories, and gathers estimates, asking relevant questions and considering productivity and skill level of the team before finalizing estimates. May facilitate daily scrum meetings with the development team to assess progress and helps to remove risks/issues outside of the meeting.
Coaching Skills: Acts as a technical subject matter expert for the Liferay Portal development team on areas such as system functionality, solving operational issues, performance initiatives. Actively participates in Communities of Practice and mentors development team members, helping them to get deeper in their specialties, broad into other specialties, and more efficient.
Requirements Participation and Planning: Works with the Project
manager
to understand the project's vision and requirements, and contribute to the refining of the requirements based on technical constraints. Contributes to building the roadmap/release plan for that product/project area.
Requirements:
Strong Communications skills both verbal and written
Knowledge export with Liferay Portal.
Knowledge and integration with iWay, OnBase or NetIQ at plus.
Ability to work well in a non-structured, entrepreneurial environment and be a team player especially during time sensitive tasks / projects which may require off hours to successfully complete the
job
.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
