Job Description
Full-time. Varying day shifts. Also includes rotating weekends and holidays.
Coordinate and provide leadership in the daily activities for assigned Laboratory to ensure the delivery of quality diagnostic services.
Must be able to develop strong relationships, facilitate change processes and effectively communicate to achieve team goals.
Meets with Laboratory leadership on a regular basis, participates in staff meetings, and completes leadership courses when available.
Provides support to the Technical Director / Manager through additional duties as assigned.
Coordinates the daily activities of the Molecular Laboratory; resolves and documents workflow and technical problems.
Assists in developing and establishing procedures for collecting, processing, and analyzing biological specimens.
Assists in the development, evaluation, and selection of new techniques, instruments, and methods in terms of their usefulness and practicality within the context of a given laboratory''s personnel, equipment, space, and budgetary resources.
Performs, records, and reports results of analytical tests of body fluids, cells, and other biological substances. Confirms normal results when necessary.
Integrates and relates data generated by the various clinical laboratory departments while making decisions regarding possible discrepancies when necessary.
Verifies quality control procedures, executes quality control procedures, and develops solutions to problems concerning the generation of laboratory data when necessary.
Ensures laboratory compliance with regulations, which includes monitoring of QA/QC, maintaining well-functioning instrumentation, completing annual policy reviews, as well as meeting proficiency test standards for all required analyses.
Required Skills
Bachelor''s Degree and graduate of an accredited school of Medical Technology/Clinical Laboratory Science. Five years clinical laboratory experience in a moderate or high complexity laboratory preferred. Advanced knowledge of molecular assays is required; and a Technologist Certification in Molecular Biology MB (ASCP) is preferred. Must have proven leadership skills.
Must hold current national certification as a Medical Technologist (ASCP) or Clinical Laboratory Scientist (NCA) and be licensed by the state Board of Clinical Laboratory Practice. Certification as a Medical Technologist (ASCP) or Clinical Laboratory Scientists (NCA) is required unless employed at Sanford as a Medical Technologist prior to 1991. Must be licensed by the North Dakota Board of Clinical Laboratory Practice if working in a North Dakota location. Specialist certification in Molecular Diagnostics preferred.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
