Minimum Qualifications
Must be a student working towards a degree in web development, graphic design, communications,public relations or closely related field and successful completion of the interview process and reference checks.
Student Requirements
To be eligible for a North Dakota State Government Stipend Student Internship, a student:
Must be currently enrolled in an accredited college, university, or vocational-technical program in the United States, and
Must be a current full-time student, as defined by that school, in the semester or quarter in which he/she applies for internship, and
Must be able to receive academic credit for the internship, and
Must be at least of sophomore standing by the beginning of the internship (or must have completed the first year of a vocational/technical program by the beginning of the internship), and
Must have a cumulative Grade Point Average of at least 2.0 on a 4.0 scale.
Addiction Counselor Exception: applicants for the internship program must be getting either academic credit or able to confirm the internship work is counting towards their 1400 hour requirement for licensure

Summary of Work
The internship will focus on all aspects of agency communications to include: social media, website, printed information materials, such as brochures and fact sheets, and news releases.
1. ND Veterans Affairs Internet Site: Write, edit and proof a variety of items for posting on the external website including, events, news releases, and activites. Ensure all proper operation of web pages, links, etc. in a variety of browsers.
2. Social Media: Post and schedule updates to Facebook, twitter, Pinterest, etc. pages. ND Veterans Affairs Internet Site: Write, edit and proof a variety of items for posting on the external website including, events, news releases, and activities. Ensure all proper operation of web pages, links, etc. in a variety of browsers.
3. Research, develop and implement strategies, guidelines and standards for utilization of existing and emerging websites and their use within the agency.
4. Assist Veterans Service Officer in other areas as necessary.
Hours of work are flexible to work with classes scheduling.
