Job Description:
The Commercial Lending Credit Analyst occupying this position will be expected to function as a lending resource primarily to commercial and agriculture lenders and secondarily to real estate lenders, personal banking officers, and branch managers. This individual must possess the technical skills needed to underwrite, document and administer a commercial loan portfolio.
Primary Duties:
In conjunction with the Business/Agriculture Bankers, interview prospective small, midlevel, and large business loan customers in an effort to make a preliminary determination as to the nature and feasibility of the credit request.
Analyze and spread financial statements for existing and potential new clients. Provide preliminary recommendation as to the feasibility of the credit request.
Prepare loan committee presentations and annual credit reviews along with supporting documentation for new and existing customers. Include in this review, assignment of
appropriate risk ratings as well as compliance with loan covenants and loan policy.
Establish and negotiate, where necessary, terms under which the credit could be structured, including the costs, repayment methods, and collateral requirements.
Monitor the credit facility once it is booked, including an assessment of interim financial information, borrowing base reports, and other supporting documentation.
Assist lenders and commercial loan assistants in ensuring loan documentation is completed accurately and to correct any deficiencies or errors.
Participate in loan committees on an as needed basis.
Complete/Review real estate evaluations supported by market data on real estate transactions that require an evaluation.
Mentor Bank officers in the credit administration process .
Know by name and face as many Bank customers as possible, calling them by name as often as possible.
Secondary Duties:
As part of the Credit Department, we are instrumental in the management of the banks past due or problem loans. Therefore, you may be required to assist with the following duties:
Supervision of problem loans or delinquent loans, including updating management on our workout plan as well as our progress.
Depending upon workload and availability, credit officers may be asked to assist in the following:
Assist the Correspondent Department if necessary in managing the loan participation portfolio.
Assist in the administration of the Bank's loan policy.
Assist in the training of new hires within the credit department.
Assist in the preparation of loan reports for the Board of Directors and Executive Management on a periodic basis.
Job Skills Required:
Three to five years of credit, lending, or examining experience.
Four-year degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
Working knowledge of loan documentation.
Above-average written and communication skills.
Proficiency with computer technology.
Ability to deal with multiple tasks and deadlines.
Effective time management and organizational skills.
Bottom Line Requirements:

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
